Junior Cookie Artists Camp | Ages 10–13

Perfect for older kids who want to learn the art and technique of professional cookie decorating.

In this hands-on camp, campers will learn how to work with royal icing, practice piping techniques, mix their own icing colors, and design a complete decorated cookie set.

All cookies are pre-baked by Baked by Jul, allowing campers to focus on decorating skills in a safe environment.

For safety, no ovens, mixers, knives, or kitchen equipment will be used during camp.

By registering for this camp, the parent or legal guardian confirms they have read and agree to the Baked by Jul Camp Policies and Liability Waiver.

All instructors and assistants working with campers have current Pennsylvania child abuse clearances as required by state law. Documentation is available upon request.

What Campers Will Learn

Throughout the three days, campers will learn:

• Royal icing basics and consistency control
• How to outline and flood cookies
• Advanced piping techniques
• Detail piping and decorative patterns
• Wet-on-wet decorating techniques
• How to mix icing colors
• How to design a cohesive cookie set
• How to package cookies like a professional baker

Campers will design and decorate their own cookie collection using the techniques learned during camp.

Daily Camp Highlights

Day 1 – Royal Icing Foundations

Campers will begin by decorating their own Baked by Jul apron using markers and patches.

They will then learn the fundamentals of royal icing, including:

• outlining
• flooding
• icing consistency

Campers will practice their skills by decorating two cookies.

Day 2 – Advanced Techniques & Design Planning

Campers will learn more advanced decorating techniques, including:

• detail piping
• pattern techniques
• color mixing

They will practice these skills by decorating six cookies.

Campers will also begin planning their final cookie collection, designing a cohesive set of cookies for the final day using up to three icing colors.

Day 3 – Cookie Collection Creation

Campers will arrive to find their pre-baked cookies ready for decorating, along with the icing colors they selected.

Using the techniques learned during camp, each camper will decorate a final set of 10 cookies based on the design they planned the day before.

Campers will have most of the session to complete their cookie set.

At the end of camp, we will host a fun Cookie Art Show, where campers can display their creations and admire each other’s work.

Each camper will receive a Certified Cookie Artist certificate from Baked by Jul to celebrate their accomplishments.
